V-hotel Victorieplein Amsterdam

This is a hip, relatively inexpensive hotel in South Amsterdam, located in a School of Amsterdam architecture flat building intelligently adapted for a hotel some years ago, recently modernized and redecorated.

Many doors which previously lead to the apartments on different floors of the building, open now to a nice lobby with a fireplace, directly connected to other cozy spaces of V-hotel Victorieplein – a breakfast space and a hotel bar. As the building is located a bit away from the busy street, V-hotel is remarkably quiet inside. The noise of the big European city ever present in all city centers is simply not there. The only noises you might hear are those of the other guests staying at the hotel.

Very steep, typical Amsterdam, stairs lead to the V-hotel's Victorieplein four floors (no lift). Its rooms are very small, simple, but well equipped. Especially single rooms may seem really tiny. But again, there is some intelligence in their basic design. They have a small writing desk, a safe, an iron and a hairdryer, direct dial telephone and a cable TV. Behind the V-hotel, there is a terrace with simple wooden tables and benches.

Complimentary computer room with fast internet and an iMac at your disposal is located on the ground floor. The hotel has also a separate luggage room.

Overall the feeling is that of intelligence and hospitality, even though without a hint of luxury. Do not expect to be amazed in any way – it is just a modern, clean hotel, relaxing at night, with a decent simple breakfast (included in the price), wireless Internet, good communication links with the centre of Amsterdam and a kind, hospitable service.
