Banana Bar in Amsterdam
Called the Bananenbar in Dutch, it is one of the most popular sex clubs in the Amsterdam Red Light District and the original location of the infamous Amsterdam banana show.
If you are interesteed in this topic, you can also make a reservation for a guided tour of a strip club. Interesting stuff.
How to find the location
The narrow building can be spotted by the banana sign that is on the building facade (look at the photo above). Also, it has illustrations of women in erotic poses on windows of the building. The location is in Red Light District. You can also look at the map at the bottom of this page.
The Banana Bar is not only the most famous of the Amsterdam Red Light District adult bars, but also the most well set for and accommodating of bachelor parties and other events involving large groups of men. If you're looking for an erotic thrill with a partner or a more intimate evening with one or two friends, then this is possibly not the place for you.
The Banana Bar
The oldest and most well known part of the Banana Bar is the bar itself. The bar is not set up like typical Amsterdam sex show. There is no stage with performers. But instead you will find willing ladies serving as waitresses. These girls move between tables serving drinks free of charge, but the extra costs arrive when asked to perform their tricks. which are the bar's main attraction. Different girls have different things they can do. Ranging from the famous banana tricks, to shows involving massage oil, vibrators and the most unique way you will ever see a postcard written.
The Banana Club
A recent addition to the Banana Bar is the Banana Club. A strip club built in more familiar style. Here you will find a pole dancing area where strippers dance and perform for the audience. This they do in a much less graphic manner than in the attached bar. Pole dances, table dances and lap dances can all be ordered from the girls. You can order also drinks from them. But the drinks here must be paid for.
The Banana Club is much more relaxed than the bar and more suited to groups of mixed genders as well as small groups or couples looking for a little excitement. The entrance fee is also lower here. But you may find that with drinks costs and dances being charged separately, you end up paying just as much as for an hour as in the Banana Bar.
Entrance prices
Entrance to the Banana Bar is €50 for one person for one hour. This price includes unlimited drinks while you are there. Each trick requested of a girl will come with an additional cost, which can be just as high as the entrance fee. So be prepared to lighten your wallet. After the hour is up, patrons are called, much like at an ice skating rink, and asked to leave. You can always choose to pay again and stay another hour, but by this time the bar's attractions have probably all been sampled.
Entrance to the Banana club is €10 for unlimited time. But a drink order is mandatory.Opening hours
The Amsterdam Bananenbar is open from 20:00 until 02:00 every day. On friday and saturday it may be open for an hour longer.
