The famous Amsterdam Philharmonics is called Concertgebouw. It closes the Museumplein from the south-west, and faces the Rijksmuseum. The classicist 19th century building has today a modern annex.

Amsterdam theatre and opera building Muziektheater

Muziektheater

The most important venue for opera and ballet in the Netherlands. It is part of the Stopera, a complex building which also houses the Amsterdam city hall. The music theater is situated at the borders of the river Amstel at the Waterlooplein, in one of the oldest parts of the city.
