Dikker en Thijs Fenice Hotel Amsterdam
A 4 star hotel with history, Dikker en Thijs Fenice Hotel is for guests who want to stay somewhere a little bit fancier and with a real link to Amsterdam's past. A.W. Dikker founded the first Dikker & Co Shop in 1895, trading caviar, lobster and oysters. In 1915 the famous chef Henri Thijs joined him as a partner and a chapter in the culinary history of Amsterdam began. The monumental building that now houses the Dikker en Thijs Fenice Hotel became the new address of Dikker & Thijs in 1921.
Location
The hotel's location, close to both Leidseplein and the Spiegelkwartier, puts it between two worlds in Amsterdam. Leidseplein plays host to numerous bars, restaurants and nightspots, while the Spiegelkwartier's art and antique shops offer you a way to spend your days in peaceful exploration of the past. To reach Dikker en Thijs Fenice Hotel from Centraal Station, take tram 1, 2 or 5 to stop Prinsengracht and turn right along the canal; the hotel is at the corner of the Leidsestraat on your left hand side.
