For one night most of the museums in Amsterdam open their doors for music, special exhibitions and food. Be sure to buy tickets on time, since this November Amsterdam event is very popular amongst Amsterdammers. After the event you can use your ticket to visit one of the participating museums during the day.

Pan Amsterdam - Art and Antique Fair
PAN Amsterdam brings together more than 100 galleries, antiquaries and art dealers that sell their paintings, antiques, jewelry, photography and much more. The event is held in the RAI and the tickets are 15 euros a day, or 40 euros for a passe-partout. Even if you don't want to buy anything, it is a very nice November Amsterdam event to go to.

IDFA - International Documentary Filmfestival of Amsterdam
This International Documentary Film Festival starts in the middle of November and shows documentaries in cinemas all over town. Go see a documentary in the beautiful Tuschinski cinema or in the modern Eye cinema in Amsterdam-Noord. Tickets can be bought in advance on the website.

Arrival of Saint Nicholas
Mid-November a traditional festivity for children starts with the arrival of Sinterklaas (Saint Nicholas). Every year there is a festive parade through the canals . Sinterklaas is the Dutch version of Santa Claus, bringing sweets and gifts to children. The parade ends on the Dam, where the Mayor of Amsterdam welcomes Saint Nicholas.
Amsterdam Art Weekend
Amsterdam Art Weekend is an annual four day event that turns the Dutch capital into an internationally oriented hotspot for art enthusiasts. The program is extensive with over a hundred performances, screenings, debates and exhibitions. This November Amsterdam event gives you the opportunity to see the newest artists and developments in the international art scene.
