Pluk De Nacht – Open Air Film Festival
A lively and young film festival with additional art installations, photography shows as well as screenings of experimental shorts and rarely seen pieces of footage from Dutch private collections. The screenings take place in open air, in a unique atmosphere.
Pluk De Nacht means in English Catch the night. The festival has been established in 2003, and since then it takes place each summer on different locations. Today, it is a big, crowded and sparkling event, with drinking and eating before the projections.
An exceptional chance to see interesting indie films, which never get into a wider cinema release.
In case of bad weather shows go on as planned inside.

Important: check their website for the festival program, but also verify if the movie which you intend to see, has English subtitles. Understandably all films in the Netherlands have Dutch translation, so if you decide to see a Chinese film with Dutch subtitles, you are expected to speak Dutch or Cantonese to grasp the dialogue. Each year, most of the festival’s program consists of English spoken films.
