The Okura has 315 rooms, most of them offering a unique panoramic view of old Amsterdam. All rooms, beautifully decorated, are air-conditioned, have Wi-Fi Internet access, fixed ADSL connection, a full size writing desk and safety deposit box. In all 50 of the Deluxe rooms, the bedside electronic control unit allows the guest to control curtains, mood lighting, the alarm clock and so on. Flat screen TV-sets are placed not only in the living rooms but also in some of the bathrooms. Okura also has Junior suites (31), larger Corner Suites (10) and four special suites: Baron Okura, Royal, Presidential and the biggest (485 sq. meters), called simply The Suite, reportedly the biggest hotel suite in this part of Europe.
Banqueting Rooms
The hotel has several banqueting rooms. The newest, the Sakura Room (“sakura” is cherry blossom in Japanese), boasts big windows overlooking the canal and cherry-blossom trees. Dinning
The Okura Hotel is known for its excellent dinning possibilities. The “Ciel Bleu”, located on the 23rd floor of the hotel, offers a vista on old Amsterdam. Other restaurants include renowned Japanese “Yamazoto”, whose chef Akira Oshima publishes books about Japanese cuisine.
