Cook Kai Thai kitchen in Amsterdam
Amsterdam is a busy city and it is smart to make a restaurant reservation in advance. You can do so through our main Amsterdam restaurants page.
Established in 2002, you are welcomed by two small Thai Puppets at the entrance, symbolising Cook Kai's hospitality.
This cosy eatery is reminiscent of an authentic Restaurant in Thailand. Inside you are invited to view their open kitchen, making you feel as much part of the establishment as you do at home.
The furniture and decor are remarkably handmade, this includes everything from the multicoloured couch lining the side wall, to the mosaic. Red, orange and blue colours dominate the interior, and teases you of what to expect from your meal.
Cook Kai's menu consists of Starters, Soups, Salads, as well as Stir Fried and Curried Meals. The ingredients used in every section vary from Meat, Seafood and Tofu. Each meal is unique in its flavour and presentation; the eclectic colours contrast vibrantly against the white of the rice, delighting all the senses.
'Kaibaiteuy'; chicken wrapped in leaf, is a much sought after Starter by their regular customers, who include Expats as well as local Dutch community. Designed primarily so their customers can sit, enjoy, eat and go, they do not serve alcohol or desserts.
Due to popularity, it is advised to telephone 10 minutes prior to your arrival, to ensure a table is waiting for you, otherwise you may have to wait for it! It is important to note that they only accept cash, however all meals cost between 8-13.50 Euro, and are significant in portion.
So if you are looking for an authentic Thai Kitchen, that serves food cooked with love to perfection, then you may expect nothing but the best from Cook Kai.
Open daily 4-10pm.
